Awesome Taf is a great location to be when visiting carmerthen , it is actually withing 25 mins drive to Oakwood theme park, 24mins to Dinosaur park, Heathertons etc and 3.5 miles to Pembroke Castle and very close to McDonald's. The host was very nice, the house was 100percent very clean. Very comfortable felt like home.
Nothing really, just a little inside but not bad at all.

Beyond grateful to have found Sunny Bank as a base mid house move. The team at Great Welsh Escapes were really helpful in brokering our arrangements with the owners and since we’ve arrived Hazel and Hugh have been nothing short of AMAZING hosts. They’ve consistently gone over and above to accommodate what we’ve needed and ensure that our stay has been a good one. The property itself is beautiful and probably the cleanest and most well equipped accommodation we’ve stayed in. More little extra details than there’s time to list but they all make such a difference to the experience of being away from home. It’s always a challenge for us to find accommodation that is genuinely wheelchair accessible and Sunny Bank is just that. A rare find as properties go and made all the more special by the nature of the welcome and hosting. Thank you so much Hazel and a Hugh. You’ve made our move to Wales so much easier than it might otherwise have been and we’ll always really appreciate that!

Seaview is a spectacular place to stay and the photos do not do justice to the space or how perfectly placed it is. We had a 4 day stay and with a full house were fully accommodated for all 9 of us. Michelle was there to greet us on day 1 and went out of her way to help where she could to help make our stay comfortable and gave great local reccomendations. Thanks again for everything!

A unique and extremely high quality holiday rental.
Perfect for family and friends to gather together and explore the beautiful Welsh beaches and countryside. Every detail in the house has been carefully considered and beautifully curated. The heated swimming pool and sun terrace are as good if not better than a Mediterranean equivalent. Loved every minute of this holiday in what has been a very challenging year. Thank you.

I am not a regular review writer however when there is something to write home about that might help others and pay tribute for an experience then I tend to put pen to paper…

We recently stayed at ‘Footprints’ Apartment for a short week and really wish we had stayed longer, needless to say we will return…

We originally booked our stay through a trusted on-line portal and did so to ensure we had support when things might not be right, however when we booked little did we know we would have the added benefit of an independent management company who were themselves nothing short of fantastic, particularly Jess who maintained contact with us before, during and on our departure day… we had no cause to call upon them but they offered contact numbers and a means to connect should we require any help.

The services provided by Great Welsh Escapes were great; offering local recommendations for to eatery’s, places to visit and local services were all very really useful… the contact was not over bearing, it was pitched just right so that although we did not have cause to call upon them we knew they were only a phone call away...

This apartment was a home from home, very thoughtfully presented, where the owner has put much love and care into the property… the outlook from the kitchen diner gave partial views of the sea and moreover down the small hill to Saundersfoot Quay; it all added to the warm ambiance of the apartment...

I know that next time I am in the area I will book directly with this amazing company who clearly have a preference for quality accommodations on their listings!

The house was great - so beautiful - the different spaces suited the needs of three generations and 7 people, with lots of places to hang out in. Everywhere was very spacious and cosy, with lots of interesting art work on the walls. We felt some of the furniture was looking a bit tired and could do with a bit of an overhaul.
It was a great location, with lots of interesting walks on the door step and a beach with cafes a 10 minute drive away. We had a fantastic meal at Dexters at Browns, moments from the house and there were enough shops in the town to pick up a few bits and peaces.

A spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and comfortable apartment just a short walk away from the sea front. A very relaxing break where everything had been thought of.
The door key to the apartment doesn't fit easily into the lock as it is slightly bent. Checkout at 11am would be much more relaxing than 10am especially as guests are asked to strip the bed and collect up the towels before departure. The sloped low ceilings in the bathroom, dining area and bedroom resulted in a few bumped heads. Scaffolding outside spoiled the view

We chose this beautiful home for my 60th birthday celebration with all my family and it did not disappoint us. The property was spacious and so very well equipped throughout. There is plenty of car park space too. The 5 bedrooms with 3 of the 4 double bedded rooms having en-suite bathrooms with a family bathroom for the other double and twin attic bedroom. Unfortunately the 3 nights stay wasn’t long enough and wished stayed longer. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jac for the welcome pack of local produce together with my 60th balloon which was an added touch much appreciated. The bar and pool table were used each night. It was a great way to celebrate with my family thank you for everything

We found the kitchen well equipped and spacious and the lounge cosy in the evenings. Beds were comfy and we used all 3 bedrooms. The location is good with easy access to walking paths. Laugharne was quieter than we had anticipated for early July and not all businesses were open, e.g. the fish and chip shop was open at lunchtime but closed in the evening. As other reviewers have commented, we did not find it possible to park in the street near the house during our stay. We used the washing machine and an outdoor washing line would have been useful.
There is a garden/outside space but we didn’t use it as we didn’t have great weather.
Great Welsh Escapes were easy to contact and helpful. We would happily book via them again if we were to revisit Wales.

Our family of 5 (3 teen boys) had a relaxing and very comfortable stay. I love an open plan setting - so much more opportunity for chatting whilst you are preparing a meal. The arrangement of the rooms is really good - it means that the early birds can mooch around in the morning without disturbing the sleepy heads. I loved the conservatory area. It added some extra space from which to escape teen noise and it was lovely to sit out there and take in the elements. The covered outside area is also a bonus. It is sheltered from the wind and thus you can sit there on what might be a chilly evening and enjoy the last of the sun. The enclosed garden was a delight and was really handy for us - as it meant that our cocker spaniel could not escape chasing rabbits. This family home has a welcoming feel and we hope to return. The kitchen has everything that you might need - plenty of utensils. We would recommend Good Trails (Coppet Hall Beach near Saundersfoot) for paddle board lessons and bike hire. I also highly commend the whole booking experience. We found the online personal check-in area really useful for things to do / places to eat (plus the personal recommendations from the owner). Battlefield Live laser tag was on that list and it was brilliant fun. The agency responsible for this property were really communicative, friendly and helpful - good job guys!

We stayed at this apartment in Saundersfoot for 1 week. The apartment named -Footprints exceeded all expectations! The photographs were very accurate.

Great Welsh Escapes gave us clear information about the check in, once there, we were extremely pleased with the apartment, it wanted for absolutely nothing! It was fully equipped to make our stay very comfortable, the host has thought of everything. We were also sent a message when we were there to make sure everything was okay and was told to get in touch if we needed anything at all.

Not only is the apartment in an ideal location with a terrific view of the sea, the apartment itself is very cosy. Every room is expertly decorated and accessorised. Stay here if you want luxury! We ate out at the Boathouse, The Mulberry and Harbwr restaurant - all served great food.

We ate in a few times during the week and found everything we needed as the kitchen and dining area are fully equipped - pans, crockery, lovely glassware, wine aerator, plenty of tea towels, dishwasher tablets. The bedroom has plenty of storage with cosy lamps and lots of plug sockets, very comfortable bed and pillows. Motion sensor lighting in the hallway and bathroom for when you get up in the middle of the night! The bathroom has an excellent shower too.

One of the main things about our stay was the cleanliness, it was spotless! You can really tell that the host has thoughtfully and carefully planned everything throughout the apartment along with personal touches.

We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Nice big house in a quiet location with a good size garden and terrace. 3 good size double bedrooms and a single bedroom. Lots of room for the 6 of us plus a dog. It was an easy 5 minutes walk to the centre of the village which had at least 4 pubs, a castle and a beautiful walk along the river. Good walks in the area and easy to get to lovely beaches at Pendine, Tenby and Amroth. We will be back.

Wonderful stay, one of the best we’ve had. The cottage is very cozy, has amazing views and has everything you need. We felt like home (I wish my home was like this place though). The stay was very relaxing. It was very easy to find—just click on “open the address in the maps/gogle maps” and it will take you right to the place (we used gogle maps, so the app just received the exact coordinates and led us to the exact spot.) The road at the end was totally fine—no issues at all. A typical countryside road and it’s fairly smooth. We would love to come back one day. The hosts were very responsive.

Simply put, the apartment was great. There was no concerns with being there; a little dusty on the kitchen worktop, but nothing seemed out of place or dirty. Great comms from the host; responsive, friendly and pleasant. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anybody.

One of the nicest places I've stayed when using AirBnB. A little expensive, but what isn't these days, and it was Easter weekend, so no real complaints there.

The location was good. It was on a main road out of Saundersfoot, so it had a little traffic noise, which was hardly noticeable. A 5-10 minute walk up a hill from the centre of town and out of the way enough that getting out was simple. Convenient parking too.

This place is perfect for a family and is dog friendly too. The accommodation is perfect, open plan living was great and the patio door opening out onto the decking with hot tub right outside was fab…we came in December so spent lots of time in the tub!! The beds were comfy and lots of pillows to choose from (im a fussy pillow Person). Fantastic views from all windows/doors! There is a shop within a two minute walk, a couple of pubs, the owl and pussycat cafe, and a gift shop. The fish and chip shop was closed for the Xmas period but there is a Chinese/chip shop in St Clears near by. There is a great walk around Laugharne castle, past the Dylan Thomas writing shed and boat house is a must. We explored lots of places from here. I recommend Llansteffan, Tenby and walking through the tunnels from Saundersfoot to Wiseman’s Bridge. The hosts are super helpful and communication is fab.

We loved the cottage and the warm welcome. The cottage is so well appointed, with large rooms and modern equipment designed into a characterful style. The best thing we can say is that we would love to come back soon.
Parking is a little tight, but was adequate for our small car. That is really the only criticism. We are not critical guests anyway, but our hosts made us feel like we were their special guests. Highly recommended.

Very well appointed house with all mod cons. Tons of parking space - and an easy woodland amble down to the metropolis that is Laugharne.
Great village stores for all the things you forgot and a friendly neighbour (we couldn’t track down) who let in the grocery delivery which pitched up 24 hours early!
Thoroughly recommend for a Welsh Coastal holiday

Highly recommend this property and booking company. The property is a great size for multigenerational holiday, 2 separate living rooms as well as a kitchen-breakfast room and separate dining room and 4 good size bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It has mobility adaptations including walk in shower room and stairlift should you need it. It’s in a great location for exploring Carmarthen town centre and amenities and numerous beaches in the county and across the boarder into Pembrokeshire. The property itself was in great condition clearly renovated and modernised sympathetically with everything you could need including a hot tub. The owner was on hand and friendly but not intrusive and keen to resolve any issues. Wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

We were a family group ranging from age 10 to 73, plus 3 dogs and this property suited everyone perfectly. Super spacious bungalow with areas for everyone to enjoy. With a large garden to the front (ideal for sitting and relaxing), a small enclosed garden to the rear (ideal for the dogs) and a large paved outside eating area, we were spoilt for choice.
A short walk down into the village there are two pubs serving lunchtime food, evening food was more limited. The Portreevers was expensive, and although good service and a nice atmosphere, food was average. Poons Thai restaurant however was AMAZING!! We wished we had found this earlier in our stay, take away and eat in (bring your own alcoholic drinks) the food was delicious.
We found Amroth beach to be absolutely ideal for us. Free parking right on the sea wall in front of the year round dog friendly section, acres of sand, safe water to paddle board and toilets nearby. We spent 3 full days on the beach and had such a good time, it was just 25 mins car trip and well worth it.
We would recommend Round Park to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and as a good base to explore the area.

The house was in a perfect location to view the castle and estuary. It is beautifully furnished and was exceptionally clean. It's an upside down living arrangement with the lounge and kitchen upstairs to make the most of the view and bedrooms on the ground floor Everything was thought of and a welcome pack of shortbread, waffle biscuits and prosecco was so appreciated.
Nothing! The house had been shut up so there was a slight musty smell when we first arrived but as soon as we opened the windows it was fine and in no way detracted from the lovely surroundings.

4 of us went to stay in Laugharne based on the view from the living room window! Te living room (with a big Smart TV that I could get my Netflix account up on) is lovely simply because of the view. The large kitchen and dining room area is lovely and interestingly where we stand up most nights playing al the games the hosts have kindly left in the hall cupboard. Perfect space. A large, quality table and very comfortable chairs made it a great place to sit and eat and chat. The utility room off that room is very useful and the brand new washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher would make a longer stay very easy.
The main bathroom is big with a bath and a nice powerful shower. The 2 smaller bedrooms are still plenty big enough with nice furniture and overlooking the same amazing estuary view as the picture window in the lounge. Oddly, the larger master bedroom has a large window that faces a small block wall and patch of grass with no views. The tiny washroom is functional if a tiny bit dated.
The other 2 slept well but I hardly got any sleep at all as the bed had such a hard mattress on a pine frame that my back hurt too much to sleep. It may well be only personal and objective but if I were to stay again I would have to bring a 6" memory foam topper to be able to sleep better. The bedding (pillows, duvet and sheets etc) was perfectly laundered but very poor quality. Many people might not know, or care, but if you are used to a high thread count and good hotel quality duvet/pillows, you will very much notice! In fact, just that one change would elevate this property to luxury. from good In may opinion).
Overall, it is a beautiful, well laid out bungalow which it would be hard not to appreciate. I would happily return but will cross my fingers that the owners will change the mattress/bedding. :)
Te views are outstanding and the little shed in the garden is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the estuary and raise a glass of something to Dylan Thomas. I was not a huge fan before visiting but now, having read his 'Poem in October' whilst on his 'birthday walk' (in glorious technicolour in October) was beyond beautiful.

We had a 3 night stay at Dylan's Den in Laugharne and it was amazing. 4 well appointed en-suite bedrooms and a lovely cosy lounge area and kitchen. Plenty of room for the 7 of us (and our dog)
We were also left a comprehensive welcome pack which was gratefully received. If you haven't been to Laugharne then you really should add it to your list of places to visit. Wonderful.
Jac was very communicative throughout our stay, checking in that all was well, which of course it was, but it we still appreciated the fact he cared. We would love to return to Laugharne one day and would certainly aim to stay at Dylan's Den when we do..Thanks again.

The bedrooms are all stunning and the beds very comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms for a big group, with one on every floor. The house is very spacious and even with 10 people we didn’t feel as if we were on top of each other, as there are plenty of areas to relax in.
There are several great pubs within walking distance (closest is a 2 minute walk) and the general surroundings are stunning, with a great view from the house. Short drive from lots of great walks and beaches as well.
We would love to stay again if we’re in the vicinity. Highly recommend.

Use "what3words" if it will be dark on your arrival.Once you turn off the main road, you're on a private mud track, take care there are lots of deep potholes. After a short drive bear left and the track becomes tarmac with drainage channels running across it so continue slowly, through the gate at the bottom and bear right and you will see the cottage, open the gate drive in and park up in the spacious yard.

You go up steps to the front door, get the key out of the keysafe to the left and you enter into the lovely well appointed kitchen dinner. The conservatory is directly behind the kitchen where you'll find the back door and access to the garden.

The door adjacent to the conservatory entrance leads you down a long hallway with the living and bedrooms leading off it and the bathroom with shower at the bottom.

The living room has a log burner that our two dogs loved after spending hours each day exploring the fully enclosed grounds.

The swimspa was great, simple to us both the pool and sauna, but I would say, taking the pool cover off and putting back on is best done by two.

Lots of things to see and do in the area and most takeaways delivered.

We had a great time, would recommend and return.

Located among rolling fields, with free-roaming sheep and winding mountain roads, Wildhaven offers complete tranquility from everyday living - quiet nights save the sound of local wildlife: unpolluted night skies to gaze upon the stars; and plenty of hikes, trails, forests, and mountains to enjoy all no further than an hour’s drive away.

Coupled with its charming features and modern comforts, and superb, communicative hosts, it had everything we needed for a perfect trip away from it all.

(FYI stores and amenities are likely further away than you’ll be used to (especially during lockdown, nearest supermarket is about 25-30 min drive), and WiFi and phone signal really is intermittent and poor around Wildhaven. Come prepared for a digital detox!)

We stayed in Round Park around the end of June of this year and we wanted to express our gratitude, though rather belated, to the owner. We wondered if you might pass on our thanks to them.
We gathered at Round Park for a big family celebration for my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday which included family members from around the world. We live locally but our home was not big enough to accommodate everyone, yet we still all wanted to be under the same roof. What a joy it was to be able have the space at Round Park to celebrate together. The kitchen was also most adequate for preparing big family meals etc and mealtimes around the table were quite comfortable. Family members enjoyed chats on the patio, walks through the garden and on into the town. We have some truly precious memories to look back on and Round Park really added value to the experience.
Many thanks and kind regards,
The Arnotts

The house is well equipped and comfortable, and had a thew great bonus of a sheltered parking garage for our car and a part of the large utility room where we could safely store our bikes. Outside is a private yard with good seating and table, which on a warm evening we also enjoyed. The owners live next door and Robert was always friendly and helpful every time we spoke with him.

The house is good base for a holiday in south-west Wales, being only 10 miles from Carmarthen with all its shops and facilities but also very close to the beautiful Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coasts. There are plenty of good beaches and activities nearby.

We can happily recommend this holiday home.

We stayed here for a week with our two kids (aged 1 & 3) and had a really great time - the place is modern and well finished, and in a great location for beach trips, exploring local towns or seeing various attractions for children (Dinosaur World was a favourite)! The hosts were also very attentive and helpful throughout. We’d highly recommend staying here!

Lovely setting, even though it mostly rained it was AMAZING!
The Cottage is incredible and I would love to go back in the Summer and make even more use of the outdoor space. The dogs absolutely loved it from arrival to departure. Spacious, clean, warm and delightful.

Hazel really does go above and beyond, we stayed for a romantic weekend and the house is so quiet and serene and peaceful. Hazel popped round on our arrival to show us everything and talk us through the local things to see and do, really super helpful. The hot tub is simple to use, the surroundings are beautiful, clear sky for sunset in the horizon as well as completely clear starry nights.
100% couldn’t recommend this place more, well defo becoming back!
Lots of lane driving - we’re from the city so not used to the tight lanes! :D

A brilliant place to stay, superbly quiet but just a short drive into Laugharne and a great base for exploring the rest of Carmarthenshire. Really well appointed home and perfect for four adults and two kids. Really made our holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay in Castle View in Laugharne. The house was just as described , small but beautifully appointed and ideal for a couple with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. It was centrally located on the main street only a short walk from the pubs, shops and excellent restaurants. Laugharne is a great base for exploring the area as well as having lovely walks and places of historical interest, notably the Castle and Dylan Thomas's house and writing shed. The locals are really friendly and made us welcome, especially Vince in Poon's and the staff in Portreeves bar.
Altogether we had great holiday and can't wait to go back again. Highly recommended

My Wife and I feel really relaxed after a wonderful stay at this fantastic rural location. We ate dinner outside every night watching the sun go down. The chickens certainly kept us entertained too! You will not be disappointed booking to stay here.

Clare Stayed in Gwalia House 10.09.2023

This was a really wonderful place to stay. It was the perfect balance of feeling cosy and homely while also feeling like you’re in a professionally run accommodation (no personal items around, fresh rolled towels on the bed, all the essential soap/shampoo/cleaning products/kitchen items/seasonings etc.). The decor is incredibly stylish and very good quality (let down only slightly by the sofas upstairs not being the most comfortable). The house was spotless and one small issue we had with a broken appliance was fixed the next day. As others have said you’re right in the middle of a beautiful town with lots to see and do for somewhere relatively small. Highly recommend and hope to return (especially when the added features in the basement have been completed).

We have visited Laugharne several times over the last eight years, and this years stay was definitely enhanced by our stay at Gwalia House. A stunning property with a boutique hotel feel. Couldn’t fault anything. My family & I just loved it! Already looking forward to a repeat in 2021!

A really beautiful, interesting house in the Arts and Crafts style with luxurious and individually decorated bedrooms, all of which have large flat screen TVs. The garden is a delight, we spent hours just sitting looking across it. Excellently located just minutes on foot to all the places of interest in Laugharne. Definitely hope to come back.

what didn’t I like would be easier to answer! the building is beautiful and very comfortable. the set up was perfect for my family especially with the mezzanine floor bedroom which gave my daughters the space they needed. it has everything we needed and more!
…the cold tap in the kitchen was a bit noisy, that’s all I can think of!

Jess was very responsive and helpful. Our son got very high fever on the last day and Emily was very kind to extend our check out by a whole hour. The house in itself is gorgeous and extremely clean just as the pictures. However, in regards to the location of the house, it’s not close to either the beach or the castle unlike the impression we got from the pictures posted. It’s in the middle of a farm residential area. Our son quite enjoyed waking up to the mooing of cows but the stench of the cow manure does waft through the house if you open the doors and the windows. All in all, we did enjoy our stay at the house immensely.
