About Great Welsh Escapes

Although it's in MOD land, that didn't get in the way as we spent most of our daytime before 4pm, at a nearby beach at Pendine. Also we wanted somewhere out of the way, that would be quiet, without other holiday makers around. The owners have gone to a lot of effort with nice touches and quality of kitchen facilities was important to us as we prefer having evening meals made by ourselves. The walk in shower and bathtub is big. We enjoyed the fire pit outside at night and everything here was high quality.

The house was amazing we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My daughter loved the Jacuzzi, myself and my wife love cooking so the kitchen was without doubt perfect and as a family entertainment wise the TV was perfect to relax chill and enjoy a few Xmas movies. I would definitely be back again !

The most perfect holiday home. The house was spotless, had everything inside we could have wanted and the little things such as more than enough plates and towels etc for everyone which is always so helpful. A great space for everyone and the big garden is an added bonus and secure for animals which gives great peace of mind. The house was close to the town centre with perfect views from the balcony and kitchen window. We'd definitely stay at this home again it really felt like a home from home :)

We absolutely loved our stay. We had such a warm friendly welcome from Paula and loved meeting her two dogs! The cottage was so homey and comfortable for our winter stay. Paula recommended we walk over to the old church ruin by the sheep field which was excellent, amazing to be near such history! Plus we got to see the sweet surprise lambs. Highly recommend this cottage!

I would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing stay in a beautiful area. Paula and Edward were such wonderful hosts and we felt very welcome and at home instantly. The cottage is spacious, cosy, clean and charming. The bed was comfortable and a peaceful night sleep was a guarantee. Views from all windows of the cottage were idyllic! We had a mix of weather during our holiday which allowed us some enjoyable and restful time in front of the log burning stove - bliss!
The location is brilliantly situated close to lots of good walking trails, a short drive to many charming towns and villages and the water.

The Old School is a really beautiful building. It was also very clean with lovely fixtures and fittings which made our stay both comfortable and relaxing - the house is in a quiet location near both countryside and the coast. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen well-stocked - we eat in most evenings because of Covid and really enjoyed the spaciousness of the house.

we loved every moment staying here, it was so beautiful and very relaxing. we are very satisfied with everything provided for us! loved the cows in the mornings was definitely better than the segals haha but we loved every minute and would definitely recommend to anyone and will definitely be coming back! thank you so so much for an amazing time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights stay in this lovely modern apartment. The location is very quiet but only a few minutes walk to the beach. The apartment is superbly and tastefully furnished with everything you need to make it feel like home from home. All the facilities were to a very high standard and everything was spotlessly clean. With lovely views to the sea and private parking it is a real gem and is highly recommended.

Our first holiday since our son was born almost 3 years ago - the property was clean, spacious, and just about everything we needed for our long weekend with our family. We visited 3 beaches and had a brilliant time - would definitely return!

Round Park est un beau gîte, bien placé avec une belle opportunité de visiter un pays charmant. Nous ne connaissions pas et avons été charmés par les paysages, les plages (fraîches), les châteaux et ballades à faire avec plein d activités possibles. Un bel endroit pour des vacances loin de la canicule de notre sud ouest français.

Booking to go to Laugharne I used Great Welsh Escapes and they managed our booking brilliantly. The place we had booked was amazing, a huge 1 bed in a quiet area just walking distances from the town centre and the castle! Highly recommend and I am already using Great Welsh Escapes again in the next couple of months!

Hillside location with wonderful view of river Towy estuary. Property is immaculately and comfortably presented with every facility for four adults and two children.

A wonderful and beautiful home, with a very cost and relaxing feel. It is great for wanting to get away from the buzz of people with a fantastic beach less than 5 mins away. Very well presented and a great place to stay. Enjoy, we did!!

The family had a wonderful weekend. The house is perfect for celebrating a family occasion. Very easy to walk to the village and we had a fantastic lunch at Dexter’s. Beautiful barn conversion set in a tiny hamlet not for from Carmarthen with great modern facilities and a hot tub. Would stay here again

A truly unique property in a superb setting!

A great house for a small family celebration with rooms that lend themselves to all manner of occasion! The bar room was a hit for our cocktail and karaoke evening, the large dining room perfect for large family meals and the cinema room was just perfect for a lazy Sunday after a walk around the boathouse and a stop at the local pub!

All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and made for a cosy nights sleep!

Would highly recommend for families or groups looking to reconnect after a particularly tricky year!

It was much better than expected, host Hazel was helpful, friendly and provides more extras than we have ever seen. It exceeded our expectations and if we go to Wales in future would always look to stay here again .

We spent two nights in the Corrs house over New Years. The house had everything we needed - if anything, the photos really don't do the house justice and it far exceeded our expectations. We loved the beautiful gardens surrounding the house, the property has a very private, secluded feeling. We wandered around the small town, which was wonderful. We wish we had spent more time here and would love to come back.

The boathouse has bags of character, a pool, is in a great location and seamed to be great value… what more can you ask for 👏

We had a wonderful stay at Wildhaven. The cottage is beautifully situated with incredible views. The cottage itself is exceptionally well-equipped, comfortable, and spacious. Very dog-friendly. t's a perfect base for exploring the Black Mountains. We highly recommend it.

Great hospitality , hot tub was amazing , very nice neighbourhood.
Tip : Don't miss the sunrise view from the hot tub .

We had a fantastic family get together made better by such a lovely house.

When we got home, my daughter said, “I miss Rhif Un.” What a lovely stylish cottage. Everything was lovely; the sofa, the 72” TV, the bedrooms, the bathroom fixtures… everything!

We ate at one of the pubs in Laugharne and the food was scrumptious. Tenby beach was half an hour away. We parked at the Park and Ride. We ate Florentino’s Italian Restaurant - amazing food here.

Laugharne is very peaceful and there is a park near the cottage. It’s literally a minute’s walk.

The kitchen had everything we needed. You won’t be disappointed if you stay at Rhif Un.

Gwalia House is a beautifully presented house that puts one in the lap of luxury while still retaining it original Georgian feel. All of the rooms are lovely with every bedroom being en suite. The big kitchen-diner is great for day-time hanging out. Laugharne itself has so much to offer by way of restaurants, walks and places of interest. And as always brilliant, seamless organisation by Great Welsh Escapes. We'll definitely booking again.

The boat house is exactly as described, there is lots of outside space which was perfect for the dogs and fully fenced.
The house is on the small side, but had everything we needed. There is little headspace upstairs, but was fine for our two boys.
Having the pool to ourselves was amazing and it is huge!
Richard was on hand a great host.
Location is perfect, 15 mins max to the beach. Chip shop, shop and pub within a 5 min drive.

Nice house/cottage, well located, very well equipped, good amount of space for a family of five. We had a lovely stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the Annexe has been finished to a high standard and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay.
An excellent base for exploring Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
The kitchen and accomodation is well equipped, there's even a BBQ and outdoor seating!

The neighbours parking outside the gates, it’s a very narrow gateway into the property. Most nights were impossible to get in.

Lovely bungalow with extensive garden just a shame it’s not gated to make it safer for dogs and children. Handy position close to the village of Laugharne. Would gladly stay again. Great to have Jac on the end of the phone if needed. A lovely personal touch.

Perfect location, an extremely comfortable and clean property. It was well equipped and provided a home from home experience with a view to die for!

Amazing home from home with all you need and more, just with better views. This cottage has so much space and everything you could need. Great central location with little bits of magic like Llansteffan beach 10mins away. Also try the Fox n Hounds for Sunday lunch platter - yummy.
Hosts are just the best so treat this place with respect.

Nothing, all fab

Simply put, the apartment was great. There was no concerns with being there; a little dusty on the kitchen worktop, but nothing seemed out of place or dirty. Great comms from the host; responsive, friendly and pleasant. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anybody.

One of the nicest places I've stayed when using AirBnB. A little expensive, but what isn't these days, and it was Easter weekend, so no real complaints there.

The location was good. It was on a main road out of Saundersfoot, so it had a little traffic noise, which was hardly noticeable. A 5-10 minute walk up a hill from the centre of town and out of the way enough that getting out was simple. Convenient parking too.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay from the welcome hamper in the kitchen which was a lovely surprise to the hot tub out the back which we enjoyed.Hazel even popped over after we had checked in to make sure everything was fine for us which was very nice of her,the area was very quiet and peaceful with the lovely views ideal for a relaxing holiday especially with Tenby just 25 minute's drive away we will definitely be booking again next year

We had a 3 night stay at Dylan's Den in Laugharne and it was amazing. 4 well appointed en-suite bedrooms and a lovely cosy lounge area and kitchen. Plenty of room for the 7 of us (and our dog)
We were also left a comprehensive welcome pack which was gratefully received. If you haven't been to Laugharne then you really should add it to your list of places to visit. Wonderful.
Jac was very communicative throughout our stay, checking in that all was well, which of course it was, but it we still appreciated the fact he cared. We would love to return to Laugharne one day and would certainly aim to stay at Dylan's Den when we do..Thanks again.

The house was very clean and good facilities. Mainly used as a base for sleeping as other family were staying in another property so we spent most 9f our time there. Lovely garden, great place for a bbq had we the chance!

Lovely place to stay. Perfectly located in a quiet village with tonnes of history and places to visit. Absolutely recommend this place!

Wildhaven is a wonderful place to pause and reset. This was our second stay, and hopefully not our last! It really feels like it's in the heart of the Beacons National Park with nothing around by sheep, beautiful scenery, and wild horses. I can't recommend it enough.

We had a couple of hiccups with the house, but the hosts communicated well and they were resolved efficiently.

Beautiful cottage, walkable to several pubs with food and a convenience store. Very quiet area, nice walks. Quite steep stairs with no handrail worth being aware of if any mobility issues.

Very cosy and tidy house. Very quiet surroundings and a bit to drive for the more interesting to-dos (beaches, castles/houses/gardens) of the region.

We booked as it was our friends 50th in Laugharne. Was a perfect place to stay, the shower was particularly great as our water pressure at home is terrible but this is powerful and perfect temperature which felt like a real treat lol. Lovely homely touches like a bottle of wine, milk for tea, and some snacks why we weren’t expecting but were very welcome. It’s ideal for a weekend getaway and had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Many, many thanks to Hazel and Hugh for a lovely stay in your beautiful cottage. From the moment we arrived we felt right at home. The cottage was completely immaculate, making us feel like we were the first guests ever to stay there. Walking through into the kitchen, we were greeted with delicious Welsh goodies in a thoughtful and much appreciated welcome-hamper, (including milk and juice in the fridge for the all-important post-travelling cuppa), and this pretty much set the tone for the perfect break-away!
From the super-comfy beds, which induced us all to lie-in of a morning, to the fabulous hot-tub with breathtaking views, which allowed us quality re-connecting time as a family with two teenagers, Sunnybank Cottage was perfect for a relaxing break as a family. We genuinely couldn't have asked for me - thank you for sharing your beautiful corner of the world with us.

What a lovely house. The living room was very spacious, light and airy thanks to the double aspect windows and huge front window with view over the local area.
There was so much space, it was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Very quiet and close enough to the town to walk.

We had a great stay at the house which has real character, would recommend the house and the village, lots of great social areas and the rooms were all fabulous with comfy beds. Lots of thought has gone into the decoration and the bits around the house and pictures etc. We had a fabulous week (6 adults, 3 early teens). Great that we could take the dogs and there was a gate to keep them in there allowed area.

Amazing and beautiful grand old house... renovated to a very high standard with fabulous bathrooms and beautiful furniture, ornaments and paintings throughout. The village of Laugharne is lovely, with lots of Interesting shops, an estuary to explore and an old castle.

Absolutely beautiful place and has everything that you could ever want or need for your stay. Walkable distance from the beach or the centre of town but also peacefully quiet. Great view of the sea and the sunrise. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.

The house and gardens are huge and really well equipped. Plenty for everyone of all ages to do and see.
Lots of places to sit in the garden and inside.

Only downsides:
Blinds on the windows do not stop the sunlight streaming in
Garden is not totally enclosed so adventurous dogs cannot be left unattended

Absolutely beautiful house, and in a lovely location. We visited as a friendship group and it was just amazing! Great size bedrooms with huge comfy beds! All with en-suites, huge kitchen, lovely upstairs living room too. Great restaurants within a few minutes walk, and nice beach walks super close too!

We had a lovely stay - in particular we enjoyed the excellent living space/kitchen and outside area. Our baby especially loved playing on the big living room rug.

The surrounding area is amazing and the property is very well located for access to beaches, Tenby, Pembroke, Bosherston, Stackpole etc. The only thing was the proximity to the MOD area, which we were prepared for, but I think they were perhaps doing extra tank and machine gun practice during our stay. It can be a little disconcerting having your evening meal peppered with the sound of tank and machine gun fire. I understand this wouldn’t be a problem during the summer school holidays or weekend though.

We loved going to the different beaches etc. and we also had some lovely meals out - including at the fabulous Paternoster Farm which is only round the corner (must book in advance).

Wonderful house - clean and tidy, very homely and private. Beautiful views of Laugharne and great places to visit and eat in the local area. Would thoroughly recommend for families and large groups as there’s plenty of space

We had a fantastic stay as a family of 7 + 1 dog. The house was absolutely spotless and everything was so well thought out to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. Laura was a brilliant host always on hand if we needed anything but never intrusive. The hot tub was a lovely addition and having a roof over it meant we could use it whatever the weather. We will definitely be visiting again.

Peaceful and beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sea Banks. We loved the place, the location and the additional touches (bottle of bubbly, tea/coffee and treats). The dining area is a great size and wonderfully situated and if the weather had been better we would have made more use of the garden and the BBQ. It was very clean on arrival and the kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils. Sea Banks is a short walk from Saundersfoot centre and Wiseman's Bridge and is on a bus route if you want to explore further without using the car. I walked part of the South Pembrokeshire Coastal path into Tenby and was able to catch a bus back almost to the door. We also explored further afield to Marloes, Pembroke and Haverfordwest. The administration, communication and management was good - Great Welsh Escapes were responsive throughout.

Clean modern flat with a great view. Under floor heating. comfortable bedrooms. Everything you need in the kitchen and living room areas. Allocated parking at the property.
The location is up a hill and it's dark at night so I recommend you bring a torch if you're walking at night or coming by public transport.

Really enjoyed our stay, lovely large bedroom and bathroom, lounge smaller than expected but cosy and comfortable. Double glazing kept the room quiet. Lots of places to eat and drink. Would definitely stay again.

Had a fantastic stay at The Cors for a second year here. Its an fab place to stay & we had a good chill out. Will hopefully go in 2023.

Amazing huge house. Had a great time with all the family, rooms large enough for us all to sit together and the house was large enough for us all to have space. Kids and I really enjoyed the pool.

Our stay at great Welsh was great, we enjoyed our stay including clean and tidy bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen, beautiful garden, and amazing view. We also enjoyed hot tub. There were lots of things for kids and other things to play sports. Also host left us many things to eat and drink. Overall it was a perfect house and I recommend it if anyone wants to stay. We were given a warm welcome by the host.

The bungalow was beautiful, clean and well equipped. It was great for us that it is fully accessible as my disabled mother could visit.

This property is a great base for lots of beautiful Welsh places and only 10 mins drive from Carmarthen. Hot tub was lovely. I lay in it and looked at the stars.

This is an excellent property, superbly located for all the local facilities and three minutes walk to Browns Hotel with the excellent Dexters Steak House and the simply superb Poons Thai restaurant. The cottage has newly fitted high quality fixtures and fittings and clearly the owners wish to provide a great experience for clients. It is well located and has all the facilities listed although I would point out that whilst the rear garden is certainly secure for pets it is made up of a shale base and a raised bark covered bed that is quite steep.
The communication both with GWE and the owners was excellent with a couple of issues addresses with great speed and efficiency. Thank you.

We had a fabulous stay at York Lodge in Laugharne. York Lodge was clean, modern, wonderfully equipped and a great size for our party of 6. Laugharne is a lovely village with an amazing family run deli called The Ferryman and some other good food options. The team at Great Welsh Escapes were so responsive, helpful and professional, I would definitely book with them again and highly recommend them.

Beautiful house with a very high level of comfort and well equipped with everything needed. Excellent location. Unfortunately the Covid situation means that some businesses are not fully open or open at all at the moment but those that were, were very friendly. Great to see that the preventative measures are being taken very seriously both in Laugharne and West Wales generally.

This house is absolutely stunning, located in the beautiful and atmospheric town of Laugharne. It is absolute perfection, and the hosts are wonderful too, with clear communication. As good as it gets. 100% pure gold. We’ll be booking for next year.

The cottage was in a great location, close to the shops, restaurants, castle and Dylan's boat house. The facilities in the cottage were good. It was a nice touch to have a welcome pack on arrival.

My partner is tall and we did struggle with the double bed, would have liked a king-size, however we were fully aware of this when booking.

Spent two days at the Lloret, it is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Laugharne. Really well presented accommodation in an amazing location. The view of the castle and the Taf Estuary are amazing. It is also a short walk from the Grist and the castle, so it is easy to walk into town for some food or a drink. We had space to park four cars without any problem, and finding it is very easy. The owners were very friendly and came over to help with the hot tub after the first day. Overall would highly recommend that anybody looking to visit Laugharne or the surrounding area visit the Lloret.

We spent xmas at The Great house and it was magical. Great welsh escapes went above and beyond when helping organise our stay and once we arrived and during. Thank you Michelle for the decorations and the welcome hamper , logs, fizz etc. First class. We will be coming again. The house was just perfect!!

The property is lovely in a convenient location, ten mins walk from the town with stunning views.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home. Very spacious and clean. Had great facilities and everything we needed. Location was nice and not far from main town. Walks along the beach to the castle were peaceful and we enjoyed the surrounding scenery and village. Very quiet and relaxing.

Stayed in Great Welsh Escapes for two days and had a lovely time. The owner would message regularly asking if everything’s okay and the farm owner Richard on site was very helpful.

BRING THIS BACK. Over the years I have been to so many festivals and Middlelands was hands down THE BEST. Never have I felt so safe due to the friendly security at a festival. I never had to worry about water, there was so much to do in between sets. Best. Festival. Ever.

It had everything we needed, great location, brilliant accommodation and the owners / management company looked after our group and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.

We spent a wonderful week at the property. The rooms are spacious and everything has been well thought out.
The outdoor terrace is lovely with incredible views. A wonderful place to have breakfast and dinner.
The kitchen is well equipped with lots of cutlery, glasses and plates as well as anything you would need should you choose to cook a large meal.
The decor was original and made the house feel very cosy. The children enjoyed the selection of books and looking through the various toys.
We had very good weather so spent the days on the beach in Tenby and Saundersfoot which are about 30mins away. The nearby town which is a few minutes drive has a number of pubs, ice cream sellers and cafes.
Would highly recommend.

The cottage was in a great location, close to the shops, restaurants, castle and Dylan's boat house. The facilities in the cottage were good. It was a nice touch to have a welcome pack on arrival.

My partner is tall and we did struggle with the double bed, would have liked a king-size, however we were fully aware of this when booking.

Laugharne is a fascinating little town with historical sites and beautiful walks, easily accessible for other attractions. The. castle is well worth a visit as well as the boathouse.

The house is on the top of a hill, with amazing view on the castle and the river. There is good food around and lots of hiking routes. The house itlself is large and comfortable, the owners live next door and are happy to help if you need anything. The hot tub was a hit. People around are very friendly. My only wish would be for the beach to be suitable for swimmers, but there are lots of sandy beaches in 30 min driving distance. I cannot help but recommend the place to spend your holidays.

This lovely house nestled in the middle of the beautiful town of Laugharne is absolutely exceptional in every way. Absolute perfection, the property is luxurious with beautiful furniture and artworks. Located a few yards away from Browns Hotel with parking too. We had the best time and will be booking another trip next year. Cannot recommend highly enough. Five star!!!

Perfect stay for new year.
Stayed with family, was extremely clean and orangised. Lovely warm fire, cosy front room and the best kitchen I’ve ever cooked in.
Would 100% stay again, only down side was there was no wardrobes but it’s not the end of the world living out a case for a few days.

It was a beautiful house and with all the amenities anyone could ask for. It really felt as if we were staying in someone's home. Everything you could think of was in the ktichen. It made it very nice to be able to cook home meals there. The view is spectacular from the sun deck and the local town of Laugharne was super friendly. We loved it. highly recommend.

Wonderful stay, one of the best we’ve had. The cottage is very cozy, has amazing views and has everything you need. We felt like home (I wish my home was like this place though). The stay was very relaxing. It was very easy to find—just click on “open the address in the maps/gogle maps” and it will take you right to the place (we used gogle maps, so the app just received the exact coordinates and led us to the exact spot.) The road at the end was totally fine—no issues at all. A typical countryside road and it’s fairly smooth. We would love to come back one day. The hosts were very responsive.

The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the hosts very welcoming. They gave us bara brith cake, rose wine and biscuits. Supplied tea, coffee, sugar and a host of ‘extras’ for our stay.

We had a superb 10 days at Yr Hen Feudy in Llandybie, which completely lived up to our expectations. Our hosts greeted us and showed us around, and nothing was too much trouble. We were grateful for the thoughtful little creature comforts which made our destination into a 'home from home', as well as all the information relating to the area and places of interest. We were blessed with lovely weather as well, enabling us to enjoy walking in the Brecon Beacons as well as along Rhosili Bay. Our Great Welsh Escape provided a much needed opportunity to unplug, rest and relax, restoring both mind and soul. Thank you very much.

Sunrise Super View , Hot Tub

We had a fantastic staycation experience!

Firstly, the good view we experienced was stunning, especially we witnessed a sunrise you had never seen before. The fact that i am specially mentioning it as it left a strong impression on me .

Additionally, the facility good amenities, including a spacious and clean home and a hot tub. These types of features can make all the difference in creating a relaxing and enjoyable staycation experience.

Overall, it was very positive and happy time we spent with family.
Thanks again as this stay will remain in our and my 6 year old girl memories forever.

Beautiful & modern bungalow/cottage equipped with everything you need. Owners were lovely & very knowledgable of the area. Ideal location for visiting nearby towns, Tenby, Saundersfoot, & Pembroke. Highly recommend.

Lovely farmhouse located in wonderful and peaceful location in the Brecon Beacons. Great surroundings and view. It has a nice big garden that is good to relax in and watch the sun set on an evening. It is very quiet and peaceful that is perfect to get away from it all.
Very comfortable furniture to relax in. Nice and functional kitchen with great electric cooker that is easy to use and gets the job done.
Had a few house spiders inside but that is to be expected with the location in the countryside and they were easily removed and put back into nature.

Overall, really nice stay and would go back and stay again.

We enjoyed staying at the bungalow in Pendine and using it as a base to visit the surrounding attractions and beautiful countryside of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Mona and Graham were excellent hosts. The property was perfect for our needs very clean and homely, modern inside set in beautifully kept grounds and garden, quiet and relaxing.

We thoroughly enjoyed. All the little extras made it that much more special, we will be coming back. Truly a home from home.

Lovely property, suited our stay of four adults perfectly.
One of our guests is around 6 3" and found himself hitting the light fittings as they are all quite low hanging!!
It was very cosy for an autumn break.

We had a lovely and relaxing winter stay at the cottage. Despite sub-zero temperatures we stayed nice and cosy thanks to the log burner and under-floor heating downstairs. Paula was very welcoming and friendly, as were the two farm dogs. We enjoyed exploring the local area and saw Curlews and a Golden Plover murmuration on our walks around Laugharne and Pendine. Would definitely come again.

Everything about it. Fantastic place in a beautiful location. The Cors has everything you need. We were 6 adults and 3 children. Loads of room. Pool table, bar, cinema room. Can't fault this place. Truly stunning. Jac was great with communication and I'm sure would do anything for you. Loved every minute of the stay.
