Min Yr Afon
Laugharne
Min Yr Afon, meaning 'edge of the river', is a three-bedroom mid-terrace cottage located in the centre of Laugharne, which has been lovingly renovated for families and friends to enjoy.
Upon entering the property, you find yourself in the hallway with the living area immediately on your right-hand side. You can snuggle up on the comfy sofas and unwind listening to some music, with the fire roaring in the background, or turn on the sky TV and watch a film.
Down the hallway you will find a large well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can rustle up a meal and gather around the table to eat while you reminisce about your adventures. Just off the kitchen is a handy utility room, with a washer/dryer, leading to the garden.
Upstairs, at the rear of the property, there is a comfortable King size bedroom with an ensuite shower room, dressing table and plenty of storage. Down the hall you will find a Super king size bed which can be made up as a twin upon request, there is also a further single bedroom.
The family bathroom has everything you may require, including a separate shower and a bath, great for having a relaxing bath after a busy day exploring.
Externally to the rear of the property, head up the external steps and you will find a gravelled area with pretty flowers and a picnic bench, with a grassy lawn area for the children to play.
There is an abundance of attractions in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, ranging from stunning beaches, castles, The National Botanical Gardens of Wales, and Country parks.
For the younger generation Min Yr Afon is a short drive away from Folly Farm, Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities, and the Dinosaur Park.

Book and relax with people who care
We went over Christmas for a relaxing break and had a wonderful time. The cottage is close to Dylan Thomas's Boathouse and great pubs. The estuary is beautiful and the locals very friendly. Would definitely love to go back. Thanks

Een heerlijk huis met fijne woonkeuken. Sfeervol en met smaak ingericht.
Alles werkt. Lekker als je gewoon een vaatwasser en droger tot je beschikking hebt. En er lag zelfs hout klaar voor de haard.
het enige dat ik miste, was een theedoek.

Had a lovely stay, the team at Great Welsh Escapes were always there and proactive in reaching out. They also messaged to check we had found everything OK.
Cottage was beautiful and well-equipped. Lovely village location. Parking was not always possible right outside the cottage but within a couple of minutes walk (literature in the cottage shared suggested parking locations).
We didn’t use the garden but it could do with a bit of tidying up … will be lovely if/when that is done though.
Would very much recommend this cottage as a beautiful, relaxing base for the area. A home from home.

Lovely property, suited our stay of four adults perfectly.
One of our guests is around 6 3" and found himself hitting the light fittings as they are all quite low hanging!!
It was very cosy for an autumn break.

We found the kitchen well equipped and spacious and the lounge cosy in the evenings. Beds were comfy and we used all 3 bedrooms. The location is good with easy access to walking paths. Laugharne was quieter than we had anticipated for early July and not all businesses were open, e.g. the fish and chip shop was open at lunchtime but closed in the evening. As other reviewers have commented, we did not find it possible to park in the street near the house during our stay. We used the washing machine and an outdoor washing line would have been useful.
There is a garden/outside space but we didn’t use it as we didn’t have great weather.
Great Welsh Escapes were easy to contact and helpful. We would happily book via them again if we were to revisit Wales.

Laugharne, we were delighted to discover the best place to stay in our seven years of visiting. Laugharne is a charming town with a rich history.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Laugharne Castle, which we highly recommend to anyone visiting this area. The castle not only offers a glimpse into the past but also treats visitors to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
While our stay was fantastic, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. There was no bathroom blind in our accommodation. Although the glass was frosted, it did not provide enough privacy for our liking. It would have been more comfortable to have a proper blind or curtain in place, ensuring a sense of privacy while using the facilities.
Another small issue we encountered was the lack of tea towels in the kitchen, there was only one tea towel provided.
Despite these minor issues, our overall experience at this accommodation was exceptional.
We hope to come back!

We had a lovely stay at this property, which is even cosier than it appears in photos. The radiators warmed up to heat the house very quickly during the cold weather.
Beds were really comfy, and we all slept beautifully!
It's a great base for exploring Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Laugharne was a lovely town to return to in the evenings after long days out sightseeing.
Great Welsh escapes were really responsive and communicative to meet all our needs before and during the visit.
On street parking was challenging at times, but we're very used to this at home!

Well what a lovely little house in a superb location. There are some fantastic pubs, cafe’s and shops just a short walk away and the locals are super friendly. The house was nice and clean and most of the things we needed were on hand. There was only a few minor things that would have been beneficial such as matches for the log burner, laundry detergent (as we only had one bath towel and one hand towel each for the week), or more than one tea towel, but we managed. We did have a lovely welcome package of wine, tea, coffee, jam and crackers. The Wi-Fi and tv were most appreciated by the teenagers, as were the board games.
I would definitely recommend this house, but the only advice I would give is to consider the parking, or lack of it. The listing says that there is on road parking available on a first come first served basis, but we never managed to get anywhere near the house for the whole week. We had to park in the village and walk 5 minutes up hill and back down again whenever we were going out in the car. This wasn’t a real issue for us, as the weather was dry and we didn’t mind walking. However if we were an elderly couple or a couple with toddlers, we would struggle. Packing and unpacking the car was a pain though, as we had to block the road.

It’s a beautiful home and the location is very peaceful perfect for evening walks….Only downside is the parking issue as the street is quite a busy street.
