The property itself is a private little gem, set down a long rural track away from the world it provides the perfect rural escape to enjoy some quiet time in the heart of a beautiful private estate and garden!
The 18th century cottage is like stepping back in time, reserved and understated and yet everything you need for a tranquil escape!
The property was easy to find and enter, clean, well furnished and homely! Ample supply of wood and kindling for the Aga and fires, well laid out and very enjoyable to be in!
It’s the perfect place to explore the local area or nestle down with a good book and ignore the world!

We had a great stay, the house was exactly as advertised and the location was particularly good. Right in town and an easy walk to lots of pubs and cafes.

We went over Christmas for a relaxing break and had a wonderful time. The cottage is close to Dylan Thomas's Boathouse and great pubs. The estuary is beautiful and the locals very friendly. Would definitely love to go back. Thanks

The house is absolutely beautiful and we had a lovely stay. The garden is large and secure, so we didn’t have to worry about our dog escaping, and it was great to have a heated swimming pool.

We had a fantastic few days in Pendine. Apartment was very clean and well equipped with lots of nice touches. Views were unbelievable, only a 10-15 min walk to the huge but quiet beach. It had lots of nice restaurants like Lotus and a fantastic park for our son. Was his first visit to the beach and one we will remember for a long time. We hope to come back.

The Boathouse is a super cottage with stunning surroundings, at the back of a farm, right by a gorgeous pond with ducks.

We came back today stayed 5 nights over Christmas. Myself, wife and our golden doodle Alfie. Views are amazing short 5 mins drive to Laugharne and 10 minutes to pendine. Super private and we were not bothered at all during our stay.
Super cosy and our dog loved wandering in the private garden.

Amazing cottage. Jan and Ken were brilliant hosts, couldn’t do enough for you, went above and beyond expectations.
The cottage was well equipped and very clean, had everything you needed and then some.
Very quiet, peaceful and private location. 5 mins drive to local village St Clears with shops, takeaways and pubs.
The swim spa and sauna was fantastic, just what everyone needed after a day of exploring the nearby areas, Tenby, Pembroke castle, Heatherton, etc.
Wouldn’t hesitate to come back here next time we want to explore South Wales again.

We had a fantastic week in Laugharne at Gwalia House. The accommodation was fantastic, spotlessly clean and exactly as described and was perfectly located to enjoy all the Laugharne and the surrounding area has to offer. Laugharne itself is gorgeous and such a friendly place, we especially liked Poon over the road! The hosts (Great Welsh Escape) were very communicative and even responded to questions on bank holiday! We loved Gwalia House and definitely hope to be back.

Clean and tidy very well presented barn. Could not fault it in any way, lovely owners who greeted us on arrival. Would 100% stay again and we are looking to book again in March 2026 for our son’s birthday! The goats were definitely a nice surprise too!

Had a lovely 3 nights staying here. Loved the quiet and the large indoor pool. Easy enough to get to nearby places like Cenarth and Tenby, Carmarthen etc. Would be nice to paddleboard or jump in a rowing boat on the little lake out front but don't think it's permitted. Happily go back

Old school house is beautiful! The moment we walked in we were charmed. We loved how it was ‘quirky’ - spiral staircase, arched doors, beamed landing, steps to circular dining room. Yet it was very practical, with everything you’d need for a stay. All in all a very comfy, cosy and relaxing stay. We were thrilled to find a collection of Welsh goodies - thank you! We enjoyed our day learning about Dylan Thomas, whose home was just a 5 minute drive away. I wishes we’d stayed longer. I will definitely recommend it to friends.

A perfect place to stay over Christmas with two toddlers and a dog.
The Boathouse was exactly as described and decorated for Christmas when we arrived.
The pool was bigger than expected but perfect to use each day for kids working on their swimming and water confidence.
The host, Richard, was always available, friendly and chatty with the kids when they showed an interest in the animals.

Beautiful house and perfect layout for a family gathering. The photos don’t do this house justice- it is fantastic!

Had a fantastic family stay in the old school house. The facilities are high spec with a well equipped kitchen, in fact I’m now on the unit for a new bathroom following our visit.!
The only down side was that there are no draws or wardrobes in the bedrooms and therefore we were living out of suitcases for the week.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Perfect cottage in a very secluded location. Host was fantastic, recommended lots of places to go and was really helpful throughout our stay. The private pool was really great but it was the location that was really special so many great places to go. House is perfect for four plus a dog with everything you could possibly need. Was great having our own garden and having access to a big field too. Definitely need ten days next time, too much to see in seven!

Ros's house is absolutely beautiful. She's done such a fabulous job with the interiors. The views are also amazing. It was so peaceful. The beds and duvets were really comfortable. It was a beautiful house and with all the amenities anyone could ask for. It really felt as if we were staying in someone's home. Everything you could think of was in the ktichen. It made it very nice to be able to cook home meals there. The view is spectacular from the sun deck and the local town of Laugharne was super friendly. We loved it. highly recommend.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Brofallen- the beautiful decor and gorgeous plants really made it feel like home from home only better! The view from the garden and conservatory is stunning- it was such a treat to start our day looking out to the distant sea, drinking the local, small batch roasted coffee left as part of the welcome pack. We had a couple of questions which were promptly and kindly responded to. We found the house very thoughtfully equipped and we cooked, played some of the games and used some DVDs and books as well. For most dogs the garden is very nicely enclosed and a great place to explore. For our rescued Serbian street dog, he did find a way out towards the neighbour's garden even though we were supervising him. We would definitely like to return- the house feels like a relaxing retreat.

Beudy Howel was a great. The location was fab! The barn conversion has been very well done, and it was very well equipped. Would highly recommend.

Lovely place to stay, very well cleaned and well maintained. Has all essential amenities to make the stay comfortable and relaxing.

The views of the castle and estuary were amazing and we never tired of looking at them from the lounge! The village is beautiful with pubs and restaurants within a short walk. There were always people around providing a nice atmosphere without being busy with a few useful shops, but not spoilt with seaside souvenir ones. Sitting on a bench in the grass area by the castle and estuary, with an ice cream from the van in the car park can’t be beaten!!

Amazing huge house. Had a great time with all the family, rooms large enough for us all to sit together and the house was large enough for us all to have space. Kids and I really enjoyed the pool.

Great place. Very clean. Felt at home. Only issue was that for a 3 bedroom home it only had 1 bathroom, albeit a very nice bathroom. Hosts were very responsive and answered questions quickly. I'd recommend this place again.

We had a lovely weekend in Saundersfoot, and found the property within walking distance of everything we wanted, though the hill was a bit tough but good for us!
The house was clean and comfortable with good facilities. The beds were especially comfortable, I slept so well!

The property had everything you needed. Mona and Graham were lovely and made you feel very welcome. The property was close to beach.

Well what can I say! This accommodation went above and beyond our expectations completely, it is an absolutely stunning property equipped with everything you need to enjoy your holiday! It is also completely disabled friendly which is a lovely touch of inclusivity. We would 100% recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to stay in the area. The owners are such kind people also ( The hamper your greeted with is a beautiful touch also ). Super comfy seating areas and beds, lots of cupboards and wardrobes for storing your holiday essentials and the kitchen is completely fully equipped with everything you could possibly need! Amazing home from home with all you need and more, just with better views. This cottage has so much space and everything you could need. Great central location with little bits of magic like Llansteffan beach 10mins away. Also try the Fox n Hounds for Sunday lunch platter - yummy.

The rooms are lovely, comfortable beds and lots of space. We cooked a lot during our stay and the kitchen had everything we needed. The dogs loved having such a big space to roam outside and the hot tub was also amazing especially on the days it was rainy!

The whole place was fantastic, Hazel has thought of everything. From the welcome pack to the personal greeting nothing was too much trouble.
The grandchildren had a great weekend and the hot tub and games room were the cherry on top.

Very enjoyable few days in Laugharne. The cottage was peaceful, well equipped and very well located for eateries, pubs and access to tourist spots in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Discovering the bottle of Prosecco and Bara Brith on arrival was a nice surprise.

Chapel view is a lovely cottage, super clean and comfortable. Easy parking outside the cottage and within walking distant to shops and places to eat. If you want to stay in and cook the cottage has everything you need.

We really couldn't fault a single thing.

For New Years we stayed at the wonderful Fernhill House Laugharne. Not only was the house spectacular the location was perfect!!! Great Welsh Escapes were brilliant-not only from the first contact but from assisting with the booking and throughout our stay. We've already booked again for next New Years.

A lovely cottage nestled around farm lands all around. we had a great time away from the usual hustle. Having exclusive access to the pool was a bonus for our stay. Certainly worth the money!

We had a lovely stay - in particular we enjoyed the excellent living space/kitchen and outside area. Our baby especially loved playing on the big living room rug.

The surrounding area is amazing and the property is very well located for access to beaches, Tenby, Pembroke, Bosherston, Stackpole etc. The only thing was the proximity to the MOD area, which we were prepared for, but I think they were perhaps doing extra tank and machine gun practice during our stay. It can be a little disconcerting having your evening meal peppered with the sound of tank and machine gun fire. I understand this wouldn’t be a problem during the summer school holidays or weekend though.

We loved going to the different beaches etc. and we also had some lovely meals out - including at the fabulous Paternoster Farm which is only round the corner (must book in advance).

Sea Gem is truly a gem. The views from the kitchen are absolutely stunning and for our purposes the home was the perfect companion. We had a lot of fun figuring out how to work a UK washer/dryer! All of the rooms were comfortable and as described.

The neighborhood itself was also a gem; quiet and friendly. Loved waving to our neighbors as we were walking up/down the hill for our Tenby excursions.

Wales itself was a beautiful experience, we hope to come back soon.

What an Amazing house - there really aren’t enough superlatives to describe it .Every room was a delight & we revelled in staying in such grandeur . We had an absolutely wonderful time & the pool was an extra bonus. . Great comms & Michelle was very helpful. We have already booked a return trip.

A lovely quaint cottage in Laugharne. Very clean with great heating which was needed. Had a large kitchen with dining room table and chairs and well appointed. Washer/dryer was great. Main bedroom had a small but lovely en-suite. We went there in winter but found really nice walks around the area and some nice cafes still open. Browns restaurant is def worth a visit. Interior abd food is excellent. The Dylan Coastal Resort was open and we enjoyed lovely meals there. Definitely take a trip to Tenby it’s a beautiful seaside town about a 30 min drive.

Although it's in MOD land, that didn't get in the way as we spent most of our daytime before 4pm, at a nearby beach at Pendine. Also we wanted somewhere out of the way, that would be quiet, without other holiday makers around. The owners have gone to a lot of effort with nice touches and quality of kitchen facilities was important to us as we prefer having evening meals made by ourselves. The walk in shower and bathtub is big. We enjoyed the fire pit outside at night and everything here was high quality.

We had a lovely stay in Pendine, the apartment was clean and well kept plus the view over the beach was amazing. Only 15 mins walk to the local amenities and 20min drive to Saundersfoot and 25 mins to Tenby. Would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at the boathouse, it was clean and tidy. The pool was about a 1 minute walk from the cottage, it was lovely to have the pool to ourselves. The cottage is well away from the farm house, so it’s very private. Would definitely recommend.

We have had a brilliant stay at Lloret. The property was spotlessly clean with everything we needed and more. The location was ideal for exploring on foot and further afield, and every morning I was wowed anew by the view. I would highly recommend Great Welsh Escapes.
