Located on a small farm in a beautiful Welsh valley, just outside the small town of St Clears, which is a great base for getting to the many wonderful beaches, castles, beautiful gardens and of course there is plenty of coastal or mountain walking.

St Clears is a charming town with a good choice of coffee shops, Takeaways, convenience stores, butchers, pharmacies, and a handful of pubs and restaurants. It is 4 miles to Laugharne, 14 miles to Tenby, and 9 miles to Carmarthen.

Laugharne of Dylan Thomas fame has a popular castle and lovely estuary walks and places to eat. Meidrim Playground just 5 minutes away – complete with a zip wire, whereas Carmarthen, which is a 15 minute drive, has some indoor attractions for rainy days such as a large soft play centre called Sgiliau, Xcel bowl and a cinema and swimming pool.

There is also a good choice of outdoor activities available in the area, ranging from horse riding, paddleboarding, kayaking, coasteering, abseiling, orienteering, caving and gorge walking and a traditional steam railway too.

There are many beautiful rugged beaches in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, along with the more popular coastal resorts of Pendine, Llansteffan, Pembrey, Saundersfoot and Tenby.

Old Oak Barn is a short drive from Folly Farm, Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Dinosaur Park. The extensive wildlife off the Pembrokeshire Coast especially on Skomer Island is a huge favourite with visitors and the owners are on hand to help you plan your trips.

So warm and cosy and a total home from home experience! We made use of the board games Charlotte left out and went for walks in the private woodlands. The younger children loved the swings, the fairy doorway and the mud kitchen! Charlotte had left a beautiful tree and other Christmas decorations. We loved the big open living space which was ideal for having family visiting. They also loved the barn! We very much hope to return next year.

Absolutely superb. Charlotte didn’t miss a detail and I was just in awe of her thoughtfulness towards our whole family, with stashes of toys hidden throughout the barn. The woodland and farm are as beautiful as the barn with ingenious play ideas throughout; we needn’t have gone any further all week! But it is an ideal spot to venture out to Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. We were a family, but it would be a wonderful couple’s getaway too.
