Property Interior

Creek Cottage is an off grid eco friendly cottage in a truly magical woodland setting with up to date modern facilities. Reconnect with nature, embrace tranquillity, and experience true peace in this idyllic retreat.


Living Area

An inviting reception with wood burning stove, comfortable seating, a SMART TV, lots of books and games, TV/DVD.



Dining Room

A wood fired Rayburn (for cooking and hot water), stairs to 1st floor. And a dining table and chairs for 6 people to dine, or play family board games.


Kitchen

Turn back time, and immerse yourself in the galley style kitchen, gas cooker with oven and hob, larder fridge (no ice box). Cooking can be done either on the Rayburn or the gas cooker. Kettles can be boiled and toast made on these too. There is no microwave or iron, to reduce electricity consumption and environmental impact. Both a freezer and washing machine at the castle are available on request and free of charge.


Bedrooms

There are three spacious bedrooms, presented as one double bedroom, one twin and and a single room.There is an additional trundle bed for a child only, upon request.

Bathroom

The bathroom is on the first floor along with the bedrooms with bath (hand held shower over), toilet and washbasin.

There is a Cloakroom with toilet and washbasin on ground floor.



Outdoor Amenities

Outside there is plenty of space for eating, playing or just relaxing in the half acre private garden with views over the creek where it is possible to launch kayaks depending on the state of the tide. Guests have access to the Castle's 35 acres of woodland and gardens at all times. Please note that the private garden is not fenced for children or dogs.

NB please supervise small children - ponds, streams, access to river etc.

There is parking space for at least 4 cars. Half an acre of private garden surround the cottage and is not accessed by visitors to Upton Castle Gardens. The garden is not dog fenced.

Other things to note

  • Wifi is limited due to its secluded location. Unsuitable for digital nomads

  • Upton Castle gardens are open to the public during the summer months from April until the end of September. However Creek Cottage has it’s own half acre garden surrounded by a private area of woodland. Guests should note that the garden is not fenced

  • Vehicle access to the cottage is via a narrow hard lane through gardens & woodland. Parking for up to 3 cars. Alternatively guests are welcome to leave their cars (max 3) by the Castle and walk the 600 yards to the cottage. Luggage can be delivered if required

  • Constant hot water and electricity are supplied by the sun via PV cells and solar panels. (Occasionally topped up by a generator if necessary so you never go without power.) Complemented by the modern wood fired Rayburn which already provides you with central heating. An ample stock of free wood for the Rayburn and wood burning stove are supplied.

Creek Cottage is set within the 35 acre listed historic gardens adjoining Upton Castle. The gardens and woodlands which are open to the public during summer months are available to guests at all times. The cottage is approximately 600 metres from the castle and is accessed by a hard lane through the woods. There is direct access to the tidal creek and it is possible to launch kayaks from here.

The castle also have a lovely on-site cafe open from Easter through to October.

Just 7 miles from Pembrokeshire’s stunning white-sand beaches and famous film locations, and only 8 miles from the picturesque walled town of Tenby, this is the perfect base for exploration. Spend your days discovering the beauty of the surrounding towns and attractions of Pembrokeshire.
