Scolton has been managed and operated by Pembrokeshire County Council since 1972, when it was sold to the Welsh Church Fund by Colonel Jack Higgon. The property of the Higgon family for nearly four centuries, Scolton was sold only on the strict condition that it be run for the benefit and enjoyment of the public in perpetuity.
